Following up on the principle of being in “One Accord”.
In today's context that principle and practice of oneness is lived out in TEAMWORK.
It's Henry Ford who said “ Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress. Working together is success”. Teamwork makes the dream works.
Our Mission is to fulfill the Lord’s commission.
By Reaching (Evangelism); Teaching (mentoring/Discipling) and Releasing (Ordination) Worshippers! Workers ! Warriors. For the glory of God and the good of man.
TEAMWORK is the scriptural mandate.
TEAM:
Together
Everyone
Achieves
More.
The Lord is doing a great a great work in and through our team members 🙏.
Hallelujah. Shalom.
Acts 1:4-5 - God spoke through the prophet Joel of the event that took place at Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost. Joel 2:28. “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions." This prophetic promise was given 820 BCE. It was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost while the disciples were in the upper room. Acts 2:16.
It was the fulfillment of the Lord’s word John 14:16 - I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. The Holy Spirit came like a tornado. It was a spiritual tornado. It served a dual purpose: it destroyed whosoever was not needed but it built up the disciples. It destroyed fear, doubt unbelief religion etc; the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit. They were filled with love, joy , peace, etc. Instead of fear they were full of Faith. They received power and boldness. The Holy Ghost immediately revealed Jesus as the promised Messiah. They understood the resurrection power of Jesus. They were enlightened (John 14:26). He is our teacher.
That Pentecostal experience birthed the church as was prophesied by Jesus in Matthew 16:18.
The Holy Spirit started a movement that is continuing to this moment and will continue until the mission of the Father is accomplished Matt 28:18-20.
Remember: every one is a candidate for the Holy Spirit baptism and infilling Acts 2:38; Ephesians 5:18; and everyone who is filled with the Holy Spirit is a “power house” - empowered to be witnesses for Christ Acts 1:8.
Reflect on:
Are you filled with the Holy Spirit?
Do you have the joy of the Lord? Nehemiah 8:10.
Have you experienced the Love of God in Christ Jesus?
The Holy Ghost gives power to everyone who receives Jesus as Savior 🙏.
Are you sure that you are saved?
Hallelujah. Shalom. Praise the Lord. He is coming again soon.
Be rapture ready. Maranatha.
Don't forget if God promised it; it will come to pass. He cannot lie. Numbers 23:19.
Hallelujah. Shalom.
Acts 2:1 - Being of one accord means that they were united in their presence and purpose. They were in obedience to the same Master and following the same instructions, praying the same prayer and expecting the same answer. They were like minded. They were a team. They were, as one man.
“And when the seventh month had come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered together as one man to Jerusalem.” - Ezra 3:1.
God prepares us for his purpose individually and collectively. There's a fullness of time for God’s blessing and Promises to be manifested. We read that Jesus the Messiah came in the fullness of time. The world was dark spiritually. It was ready geographically and politically. He is coming again in the fullness of time. The scriptures declare that the day of Pentecost was fully come when the disciples were filled with the Holy Ghost and power. Acts 2:1-4.
They were prepared and God released his promise Acts 1:4. We have to be prepared for what God has prepared for us.
The apostle Paul says it this way in the book of Galatians Chapter 4:1 - "Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, 2 but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. 3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. 4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born[a] of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, [b]“Abba, Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir [c]of God [d]through Christ.
Remember Psalm 133:1 - Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron,
running down on the edge of his garments. 3 It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.
God is limited where there is discord. The devil thrives and triumphs where there's differences and divisions. Reflect on the many references of the power of unity.
It's important that we be in one accord as members of the church. What does it mean to be in one accord? It means that we believe the same thing we have the same Spirit, the same mind, the mind of Christ. We share the same values. We're in unity Psalm 133 And we have the same goal. We speak the same thing, with one voice as one man. As in the book of Ezra, chapter three. Do you have that one Lord? His name is Jesus, one Father, and the blessed. Holy Spirit Hallelujah.
We have to be converted, committed, consecrated, faithful, available and teachable. We are laborers together with the Lord and the church.
Hallelujah. Shalom.
Acts 2:1 - When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
God is a God of purpose, time and seasons. The Holy Spirit came suddenly but it was the appointed time of God- the Fullness of time. We have to be present and at that appointed time so that we don’t miss the suddenly blessing.
Acts 1: 4 - On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. The disciples were told to wait for this moment and they obeyed. Another example is “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law”. Galatians 4:4.
Meditate on the principle of God’s promises and the time when they were fulfilled. Remember if God promises anything in his word He will bring it to pass or fulfill it. God is not a man that he should lie. Hallelujah. The devil is a liar. Beware of the devil. He's dangerous deceptive and destructive. Shalom.
Review and reflect.
What does Pentecost mean?
What happened on this particular Pentecost in Acts 2:4?.
What does it mean to be filled with the Holy Spirit?
What results from being filled with the Holy Spirit?
Do you believe everyone - believers should be filled with the Holy Spirit?
What happened when the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit?
What will happen if and when you are filled with the Holy Spirit?
Share any other thoughts.
Hallelujah. Shalom.
This year is designated ‘CHANGE’. We are commanding change. We cannot allow things and circumstances to dominate us, the Lord has given us authority over the earth. So we will arise and go forth in the name of the Lord of Host and conquer every foe. Ecclesiastes 4:12: - " Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." We will use the three – fold cord of:
i) consolidation
ii) consecration
iii) commitment
i) Consolidation: this year we are consolidating our resources to maximize our achievements. Together we Build. Ecclesiastes 4: 9 - 12 - "Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. 10For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falls; for he hath not another to help him up. 11Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? 12And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Psalms 133 - In unity there is strength.
ii) Consecration: we will consecrate ourselves to:
1. Regularly and prayerfully read God’s word. (Joshua 1:8; Acts 17:11)
2. Pray and fast fervently. (James 5:16)
3. Love the brethren. (John 15:12, 17)
4. Fellowship regularly. (Hebrews 10:25)
5. Give generously. (2 Corinthians 9:6)
6. Witness powerfully. (Acts 1:8)
iii) Commitment: As members of our local church we are renewing our commitment to the Lord and to our local church. We will be faithful and obedient followers and strive to be leaders to advance the Kingdom of God on this earth. Matt 28 : 19 – 20. We are determined to grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Hallelujah. Shalom.
The day of Pentecost was a “Fresh Start” for the disciples. 2 Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
It was a new experience of the risen and ascended Jesus the Christ moving in to live on the inside of their bodies. They knew the physical incarnate Christ that dwelt among and in the midst of them but here it is Christ in them.
John 14:15 - "If you love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever. 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but you know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."
It was a total transformation. They were born again; filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered to be witnesses according to Acts 1:8 all at once instantly. Hallelujah. The coming of the Holy Spirit shifted the trajectory of the apostles and about 3000 people were born again into the supernatural movement of the “Ecclesia” - the church of our Lord Jesus Christ. From that day the movement continued from heart to heart, from house to house, from one community to another, from one nation to another and it's influence is impacting the uttermost part of the earth. Hallelujah.
The greater news is we are part of this great movement - the church of our Lord Jesus Christ which He purchased with His own precious blood. Hallelujah. This is enough for us to praise the Lord all the days of our lives 🙏. Give him a Hallelujah.
Let us dwell in Acts Chapter 2 this whole week. Read it prayerfully as many times as the Lord helps you and ask him to give you understanding. Today is a new day, expect to experience new things. Isaiah 43:19 - "Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
Remember: “Be Rapture Ready”. 1Thessalonians 4:13 - "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Hallelujah. Shalom.
The Holy Spirit produces fruit In the believer's life . Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
As the believer or the child of God grows in age and maturity the fruit of the Spirit is manifested or evident and can be seen and felt by others. Every tree produces it's own fruit. Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so.
It's not the believer or the person that produces the fruit it's the Holy Spirit’s work in producing the fruit. Our part is to allow the Holy Spirit to work in and through our lives.
Hallelujah. Shalom.
1 Samuel 17:32 NIV
[32] David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.” Among the many things David was a renowned warrior. He was a worshipper, worker (a shepherd); and a warrior. His name went on the honor roll after he slew Goliath.
We are in the battlefield whether consciously or unconsciously. Our daily activities and encounters are really spiritual forces working through people and other circumstances, diseases, death, distress, and disasters are all orchestrated by spiritual forces. We cannot win these battles by natural means. The world is trying education, medicine, and psychology, but these are all failures to deliver mankind from the power of sin death and the devil. The Bible tells us to battle with spiritual weapons. Fight the good fight of faith…
2 Corinthians 10:3-5. For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
David went to Goliath by faith in God.
1 Samuel 17:44-47 NIV
[44] “Come here,” he said, “and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals!” [45] David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. [46] This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. [47] All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”
Remember hold your piece and let the Lord fight your battle for you and you are sure to win 🏆. Read the story. 1 Samuel 17.
Hallelujah. Shalom.
David in Distress.
It's hard to believe that David the man after God’s own heart will experience Distress. But it's evident according to Psalm chapter 13 that he was experiencing grief and had enemies. In addition to all of that in his trouble he couldn't find God. However, the fact that he prayed “how long Lord” is evident that he didn't lose faith and hope in God. He was confident that the Lord would deliver him out of all his troubles. Psalm 18:6: "In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears."
Psalm 3:4: "I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah."
Psalm 34:17: "The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles
Jesus said in this world you will have trouble tribulation but be of good cheer i have overcome the world …John 16:33.
David loved the presence of God Psalm 16:11. He desired the face of God more than the hand of God. Psalm 13: 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. 6 - I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
He trusted in the Lord. Like David we may find ourselves in difficult times and seasons and it seems that God our Father has abandoned us but during those times he's sustains us and does things inside of us that we will testify that he has blessed us bountifully. Our journey on this earth is full of uncertainties but our faith in God will take us through the valley of the shadow of death.
Like David never lose your praise. Hallelujah. Shalom.
